Political Notes.
W. L. Lewis, of Union township, announces his name as a candidate for county surveyor this week. The friends of Ed Biggs, of Wheatfield, in this end of the county, are more than anxious to see his name announced as a candidate for Oommlsssioner from the Ist district.— Remington Press. The judicial convention will be held at Brook April 10th, when a candidate forjudge and prosecuting attorneywill be nominated. —o ' Mayor Eger will not be a candidate for reelection, and we are not informed as to who will be the demo, cratic nominee. —o— The prohibitionists have organized for the coming campaign by reelecting Jasper Kenton, chairman, and M. 0. Kenton, secretary, and nominating the following county ticket: Auditor, A. G. W. Farmer, of Marion township; treasurer, J. W. Norman, of Barkley township; sheriff, Abe Grant, of Barkley township; coroner, Webb Reeve, of Marion township; commissioners, John M. Helmick, of Wheatfield, Ist dlstriot; James Yeoman, of Newton township, 3rd district. An entertainment for the benefit of. the public library will be hold at the court house this evening. Admission 10 and 15 cents.
