Official announcement has been made of the board of trustees of the Carnegie Institution, which has been incorporated at Washington under $10,000,000 gift of Andrew Carnegie. In requesting the various trustees to becoroe -members of the board Mr.Caroutlined the purpose of the gift and announced it will be in 5 per cent bonds. This is referred to in a single sentence, as follows: “It is the purpose of Mr.- Carnegie to transfer $lO,000,000 in 5 Per cent bonds to the board of trustees."
