Panic in Alton Church.

The St. Paul’s and St. Peter’s Catholic Church of Alton, 111., was damaged by fire to the extent of $7,000 Sunday morning. The fire started in the midst of high mass, causing a panic in the congregation. ( No lives were lost. The fine appointments of the church, among them several valuable statVs, were damaged by fire and water.
