Mrs. George Reed, after an extend ed visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Matterson, returned to her home at Havana, 111., Friday. Mr. Vade, the famous English Juggler, is with the Reno Novelty Company, at the opera house, Friday, Dec. 20.
Mrs. T. J. Sayler and daughter Florence left on Monday for Onargo, 111., where they will visit before going to their future home at Lamar Colo. J- F. They were accompanied by Mrs. Wm. Townsend, of Remington.
Mrs. J. D. Brusnahan departed for her home at Spokane Falls, Wash., Tuesday, after an extended visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John English.
Grandmother Chilcote has returned from Eckford, Mich., to spend the winter with her son, John C. Chilcote. Her son, Bruce Chilcote, accompanied her on the trip. Frank Bates, of Medaryville has been fined sls and costs, a total of $61.80 by the U. S. court for shipping quail out of the state in violation of the government game laws. A large covered automdfeie containing Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Swan and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Swan, oi Hillsdale, Mich., struck town Sunday. The party was on the way to Charlestown, S. 0., to spend the winter. A dispatch from Logansport says that Landy Magee is there in search of his wife, who recently deserted him “taking with her SBOO of his money.” Landy has placed the matter in the hands of a Logansport detective, the dispatch says. Rensselaer Post No. 84, Q. A. R., has elected the following officers for the ensuing year: P. C., J. A. Burnham; S. V., B. L Sayler; J.T., Bichard Grow; Chaplain, John H. Thornton; Surgeon, Wm. Mr. and Mrs. W. O. Nelson, the photographers, departed for the southwest Monday, where they will make their future home. After a short visit with C. W. Porter at Venice, 11l , they will go to Texas. Mrs. Ellen Porter accompanied them to Illinois.
Prank Steele, a young lad from Barkley township, was arrested last week charged with passing a forged check on G. B Switzer. When the case came to trial it was found that the name on the check was Swisher inst ead of Switzer and the boy was released.
