Plenty of rain and warm for this time of year. Mrs. Myrtie Z. Clark and Mrs. Mary Porter visited Mrs. E. L. Switzer one day last week. John Fisher and wife, who have been visiting her parents and other relatives in this vicinity for a few days, returned to their home in Watseka, last Saturday. Charley Peters and Mr. Taylor, of Dew Drop, spent Sunday with Mr. Peters’ sister here. Mr. Wm, Hurley is very low. They sent for his children and friends Saturday ngain, Mrs. Snow has taken a relapse and is worse again. This damp foggy weather is bad on the sick. Mrs. Nowels was at home part of last week to attend the teachers’ association. The turkeys are beginning to say quit ! quit !in every direction. Perhaps they are alraid of Thanksgiving dinner. Shelby Comer has sold out and moved north.
George Buck is building a new double crib here for B. J. Gifford. Mr. Collus and family, of near Valina, visited Wm. Collus and wife here Saturday! „ Harry Gifford shipped a cnr of potntoes to Evansville Satui day. Fred Germain was at Rensselaer Friday on business. Miss Mabel Castor is on the sick list. Miss Mamie Alders visited Miss Nora Baker Sunday. Dutch Pass, of Gillnm, attended church here Sunday. Knrl Newland was in Rensselaer on business Friday. Ihe shooting match given by T. M. Callahan Saturday, was a success. Receipts s73*9°- Turkeys won 53. 1. Sam English won 10 turkeys. 2. Everett Brown “ 9 ‘■ 3.
