Sheriff I* Put on Trial.

Minneapolis, Minn., telegram: Phillip T. Megaarden, sheriff of Hennepin county, was arraigned in the district court under eleven indictments charging him with perjury, grand larceny and embezzlement. The sheriff is paid by fees and the present official is accused of swearing to false statements of.-services and collecting the fees therefor from the county. Megaarden pleaded not guilty to the charge. Coroner Williams will take charge of his office until the trial c’oses.
