Jess Mundell, of Medaryville, is digging potatoes for J. H. McNuse. Charley Guild and C. Robinson, of Medaryville, were Newland visitors one day la;t week. I'. M. Callahan is having an addition built to his store room 16 by 20, which will make his store room 44 by 20. Lee Jessup, of Rensselaer, is doing the work. Freeman Gifford, of Laura, was here on business Saturday. Clyde Buniss had the misfortune to fall and break his arm one day last week. Miss Maggie Callahan returned from Chicago Sunday, where she has been visiting her sister for the past two months. Perry O’Meara has gone to Chicago to stay. He got tired of painting. Fred Tyler, our school teacher, went to Rensselaer Friday night. Louis Shell, of McCoysburg, was a Newland visitor Sunday. Mr, and Mrs. Thos. Dunfee and Mr. and Mrs. Thurman Smith spent Sunday with Dr. Dunfee and family, of Newland, Sunday. Dr, Johnson came out to Dennis Casto’s Friday afternoon and brought with him a io.l pound boy. Dennis says he will raise more broom corn next year.
