Some practical joker in North Manchester sent the names of twenty or thirty young young society ladies of that city to a matrimonial paper, giving glowing accounts of them and stating that they wished correspondents. The mails of North Manchester are now laden with love letters, with sweet sayings, and most of them with wife hunters. Some of the girls take the matter as a joke, while others look at it seriously, and it is said a marriage or two may result.
