The Factory Matter.

Meetings were held last Wednesday and Thursday evenings in the interest of the new factory. Mr. Brown, of Chicago, one of the members of the firm, was present at the meetings and explained what they expeoted to do ii they looated here. As a result of the meetings a committee of five was appointed to solioit subscriptions. E. L. Hollingsworth, A. Leopold and B. Forsythe headed the list with a subscription of S6OO eaoh. W. B. Austin subscribed S3OO, John Eger S2OO, Warren Robinson SIOO and I. J. Porter S6O. Many who were interviewed signified that they would do their share. The committee has stopped work for the present until they oan hear fhrther from the firm, to whom a proposition different from that first contemplated has been made. If aooepted, the committee will at once go to work, and they feel oonfldent that they can raise the amount contemplated in the new proposition. The location of the factory here will mean much to our city, and everyone should contribute as their means will permit.
