Pronunciation of Roosevelt.
The proper pronunciation of the president’s family name Is not, as though it were Rusevelt, bat Rose-ze-velt. The family is sensitive about such matters. The Rosevelt family is of Dutch origin, arid therefore desirous that the family name should be properly enunciated.
. A Fiendish Attack. An attack was lately made on C. F. Collier of Cherokee, lowa, that nearly proved fatal. It came through his kidneys. His back got so lame he could not stoop without great pain nor sit in a chair except propped by cushions! No remedy helped him until he tried Electric Bitters which effected such a wonderful change that he writes he feels like a new man. This marvelous medicine cures backache and kidney trouble, purifies the blood and builds up your health. Only 506. at A. F. Long’s Drug Store. * Fitting the Roosevelt family into the White House is going to be something of a problem. There are eight in the family, while the White House has but five sleeping rooms. When guests are invited to stop over night the problem will be donbly difficult. No other president ever had as many children as Mr. Roosevelt, and while the lack of sleeping apartments has jc&used inconvenience before, it was j temporary. Now it promises to be [ permanent unless some scheme is de- | vised for enlarging the White House I by building wings or extensions.
