Council Proceedings.

-» J. J. Brenner et al petitoned for a survey of Division street from Washington to Scott in -order to have the line established. Referred to city engineer. F. B. Meyer et al petitioned for the appointment of W. F. Powers as superintendent of the River street improvement. No action. The contract for the improvement of Forest and Merritt streets was let to T. J. Sajler & 00. at 85 cents per lineal foot. Cement walks were ordered as follows: In front of Henry Harris’ property on Division street; on Main between Vine and Elm street; in front of Sarah A. Hemphill’s and R. B. Harris’ property on Milroy street, and Jared Benjamin’s property on West Jackson street. The treasurer presented his report showing the following amounts on hand September 30th: Corporation fund 2377 oi Water.. 1665 76^ Road ... 1083 85 Electric light (overdrawn) 34 55 A special meeting of the council will' be held next Monday night to make the tax levy and transact other business.
