Arrow Shots.
I shot an arrow into t lie air. It fell to the earth; I know not where. —Longfellow. A man can do more to mix up all his wife’s party arrangements than she can straighten out in a week. You cannot tell by a man’s zeal for church work how big a coin he will put into the contribution box. We prefer to sit on the back seat at church, for otherwise, those behind will have a chance to talk about us behind our backs. If a girl has shoulder blades that stick out like the wishbone on a tur key gobbler, she would better not wear lace yokes in her dresses A baby is never so little and insignificant that it’s mother does not say: “It is just so independent.” If a boy sees three persons going n the same direction, he begins to wonder what is going on. Everybody tells his troubles. Did you ever ride on the train any distance that there.did not some one get on carrying a violin or a guitar? If you a busy man and want to loaf a little while in peace, : do not let anybody see you or the ' whole town will come to beep you j company. If people who are always hard up cause you any wonder, just observe the way they do things lora while and you will not be surprised. You can tell circus wagons by their ! > rattle. A fool can do enough foolish things to keep a dozen men busy all the time straightening them out. Some men carry along as many things when they travel as a women. We find every door that is shut is not necessarily locked. You cannot tell much about a man by how close he eats the rind of a melon. One thing a bald-headed man cannot do—he cannot wear a pompadour. It is shocking how many ugly people there are. Never mind going gunning for people you do not like. There are others.
We all worry most over things that are none of our business. Very few people know as much as they pretend. People are often invited places because the hostess hates their neigh bors. When a widow gives a party, the wise ones begin to prick up their ears. Every woman who has never tried it, thinks she would enjoy a pair of twins. i Whenever a Saturday crowd sees a | long haired man come into the b rber shop, they all look ready for a fight. No girl goes visiting now without a dressing sack. 1 i Heal Estate Traanfer* •Alpheus Elmore to Ellis Jones. Aug. 5, It 7, bill, Remington S6OO Fred C. Lagen to John Q. Adams et al.
