SAMUEL LUCE APPOINTED.

Succeeds B. W. Sigler as Trustee of Keener Township. B. W. Luce, a progressive young republican of DeMotie, was appointed trustee of Keener township by the commissioners last week to eucoeed B. VV. Sigler, resigned. The appointment seems to give general satisfaction. There were two other candidates for the position, Enls Snlpp and D. M. Fairchild. The latter received one vole and thn successful candidate two. Mr. Sigler, the retiring trustee, will move to Momence, 111., and engage in the jewelry business.
