Color and the Trusts.

Anthony Overton of Kansas City, Kan., declares that “trusts have helped the negro.” Mr. Overton, himself a negro, said this at the final session of the National Negro Business League in Chicago last Fx’iday. He explained that the great combines had prevented fluctuations in prices, with the result that the colored dealer could better know his ground. The combines helped negro manufacturers also by reducing competition and in this connection he declared that the great steel combine had proved a good thing for the negro.
