Mrs.lke Hamilton visited her parents last week, Uncle Janies Davis and wifi have very poor health. Mrs. John Alter and Mrs. DavH Alter, of Rosebud, visited their old friend, Mrs. E. L. Switzer, last Friday. Charley Shroyer come home frpn Chicago Heights last Saturday to visit his family near Independence. He returned to his work Monday. E. C. Switzer and wife visited per parents at Dewdrop last Sunday. Cyril Steeles and family, of Latra, visited relatives here last Sunday. Wm. Hurley’s Mrs. Rpsa Shield, of Chicago Heights, is staying wit i her parents at thij place. Her children have the measles. Frank thinks it ib rather dang rous for a feller to go to see his girl if she is staying with an aunt that owns a broom. Mrs. Nan Abbet moved last week in a houst east of Blackford, so that herself and children could pick strawberries c i the Poplar Grove fruit farm. The heavy rain and hail caused!some of the farmers here to replant their corn, but it is growing nicely now. The warm weather is making it look green and nice. Potatoes are looking fine and the prospects are for a good crop. i ’ ' The hail damaged fruit and trees considerably but there will bp plenty of apples and a good many peaches, unless there is somehmg else to destroy them.
