Andrew Arnold died at his home in Barkley township last Sunday of paralysis, after a sickness of six weeks. His age was 78 years He was one of the most prominent and respected citizens of that township. The funeral was held Tuesday at the Dupkard church, in Barkley township, and interment was made in the Dunkard cemetery. , Through the courtesy of N. 8. Bates we were permitted to view his fruit and vegetable farm Tuesday, His farm consists of five acres located on the north edge of town and is all in fruit and cultivation. He estimates that his strawberry crop, which is now ripening, will amount to 4,000 quarts this year, which, at ten cents per quart will amount to S4OO. He has a nice patch of young dewberries, currantsand raspberries which are just beginning to bear, but not yet in sufficient quantities for the market. His vegetable patch is free of weeds and doing nicely. Mr. Bates, though new at the business, is bound to make a success of it, judging from appearances. Delos Coen and Rice Porter, at the Highland Park Military Academy, covered themselves with glory in the field Oay exercises Monday. Coen took four firsts, winning in the running broad jump, standing high jump, running high jump and pole vault. Young Porter took seconds in the running broad jump and the standing high jump.
