Obituary.

Mattie A. Bernard was born at Lafayette, Ind., Oct. 28th., 1854. Her patents were Joseph and Jane Callow. Her father died at his home in Rensselaer a few months ago, bat her aged mother survives her, at the age of over 90 years. She married Charles B. Bernard at Louisville, Ky., August 3rd., 1881. He died at San Francisco, Cal., in Feb , 1887. Of 3 children born to them onl one, a daughter, Jennie, survives them. Mrs. Bernard’s death occurred at Rensselaer, Ind., Thursday May 2, 1901, at the age of 46 years, 7 months, 4 days. She was a member of Rensselaer M. E. church at the time of her death. The funeral was held Saturday afternoon, at the residence, by Rev. H M. Middleton, of Remington. Interment in Weston cemetery.
