Phillips and wife were the guests of Marsh Warnes’ at Rensselaer Sunday. Irene Lutz went to Rensselaer, to visit Mrs. Newman, last week. Ross Norris and Gusta Ritter, of Rensselaer, visited at Mr. Ringerism’s Sunday. Harry White. Will Foster, Anna Lee and Mabel McDonald spent Sunday at Albert Lee’s. Raleigh Johns and family, formerly of Monon, are now residents of this place. Mabel and Susie McDonald, Josie Kodatt and Alma Helengreen were at Pleasant Ridge Friday. Miss Glenn Sparling, of Rensselaer, was the guest of Mabel Housten from Friday till Monday. Frank Peregrine, of Chicago, visited relatives in this vicinity and at Pleasant Ridge last week. Several of the young folks from here attended the dance at Mr. Davis’, south of Lee. Saturday night. Little Alice Nelson, of Chicago, came Monday night to make her home with her aunt, Mrs. Alice Lee. Miss Swartzel will give a grapaphohe entertainment here next Saturday night. Miss Roe Dennis, elocutionist, will assist her. Admission io and 15 cents.

Cam planting is all the go. Earl Hewith worked for Harry Gifford at Laura last week. Quite a number of boys from McCoysburg took in the sights of Newland Sunday. Work has begun on the oil line and will be pushed as fast as possible. T- M. Callahan and wife visited Freeman Gifford, of Laura, Sunday. William White visited friends near Francesville Sunday. William Ballan, jr., drove to Kankakee, 111., Saturday, returning Sunday. Cyril Steel was a Newland visiter Sunday. Frank Parker and wife were in Rensselaer on business Monday. German and O’Meara went to Chicago Saturday on a business trip. John Kieth, of Wheatfield, was here on a business trip a couple of days last week. John’ Shellhart visited friends at Francesville over Sunday. T. H. McNeese was at Rensselaer Saturday. Wm. Ruly went to Rensselaer Monday for a car load of potatoes. Thurman Smith was a Wheldfield visiter Friday.

Fine weather for garden truck. Just enough rain to settle the dust. Pyrle Potts Sundayed with Mae Lowman. Mrs. E. Fiddler spent Wednesday afternoon with Mrs. Wash Lowman. Miss Maggie Lowman and Belle Crail spent Wednesday afternoon with Mrs. W. S. Lowman, Miss Martha Parkinson spent the last day of school at Pleasant Ridge Friday. George Pullins went to Chicago Sunday. . Mr. and Mrs. H. Potts spent Supday with his sister, Mrs. Jane Lowman. Everett Potts made a flying trip to Rensselaer Sunday. Miss Blanche Potts and Mae Lowman did Shopping in Rensselaer Monday. Miss Clara Reish is dangerously ill at her home at Mrs. H, Randel’s. Mrs. H. Potts is on the sick list. Elmer Humphrey and Blanche Potts spent Monday evening with her mother, Mrs. H. Potts. Miss Pyrle Potts met with a severe accident Friday evening. She was thrown from her horse and lay unconscious for five or ten minutes, bruising the left side of her face and hurting her arm.

Miss Raskey is working for Mrs. Theodore Hurley. Mrs. Long visited Mrs. Newman Snow last Sunday. Miss Hardesty carries the mail from Gifford to Blackford. Mrs. Lura Potts visited in the city and did her shopping last Saturday. Quite warm and nice showers. Good prospect for fruit of all kinds. Farmers preparing to plant com as fast as they can. A few have planted. Holdridge Clark and wife, of Rensselaer, visited Zebedee Swaim’s at Aix last Saturday. Miss Lora Steele started to lowa last week. She expects to make her home with her uncle Frank Steele. Mr. Renicker has (engaged his strawberry pickers for this season at the Popular Grove fruit farm. Fruit trees are so full of bloom that if one half matures, there will be an abundance of every kind, and oats and grass are doing well.

Farmers are planting com in some parts of this township. The health of the Wiseman family has improved; so that they are all up again. The Sunday School convention at Parr was a success. It was well attended and had plenty of good music. Almost everybody around here went to town Saturday to see the new attractions at Laßue Bro’s, new store. Mrs. William Meyer, of near Aix, me with a bad accident on her way home from Parr Sunday evening. The team she was driving got scared and ran away. Mrs. Meyer was thrown out of the buggy on her head and shoulders and was badly hurt. She was taken back to her sister’s at Parr. A doctor was called and gave the medical aid that was necessary. She was able to be taken home Monday.
