Council Proceedings.
A cement tvalk was ordered on the north side of Cornelia street to Weston street, and Mr. Kressler, the owner of the feed barn alongside which the walk will run, was ordered to put water troughs on that side of the barn. W. W. Watson was granted permission to move the old Comer house to a lot on South Weston street. J. R. Kiglit was given permission to move the old building from the Odd Fellows’ ground to the lots near the depot. The cemetery committee reported that they had purchased a 30 foot strip of ground of Thos. Robinson for cemetery purposes, the consideration being $1,200 and a small piece of South street. Wm. Smith et al petitioned for a 6 inch tile drain on Cedar and Scott streets. Referred to sewer committee.
The mayor was authorized to appoint a special committee to look alter the Sunday drunks. The following bills were allowed: Wm. Thornton, work on street 225 Joseph Rowen, “ “ 18 00 James A. Burleigh, of Fresno, Cal., and Miss Myrtle Wright were married at the residence of the bride’s sister, Mrs. W. H. Beam, Sunday at noon, Rev. A. Golden Work officiating. After the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Burleigh departed for Chicago, and after a short stay there will leave for their future home at Fresno, Cal., stopping at Salt Lake City and other points of interest. The groom is a prominent grain dealer and stock buyer of California.
