Made Sick by Escaping Gas.
Sunday night at T. P. Wright’s residence across the river, escaping gas from a coal stove might have caused the death of Mr. Wright’s three daughters, Leathe, Flossie and Mary and their guest, Miss Maude Healey. They were sleeping in a room in which was the stove. Sickness caused by the escaping gas awoke them during the night and discovering the trouble they opened a window and let it escape. The stove pipe had withdrawn from the chimney, which allowed the gas to escape into the room. Miss Leathe was made so sick that she was unuble to teach her school on Monday, her place being taken by her sister Flossie. Mary was also made sick by the escaping gas and was confined to her bed Monday.
