Brook Correspondence.
An interesting revival of religion hit* been in progress for thioe weeks at Pleasant Ridgo, which resulted in forty-five conversions, all of whom united with the Methodist Episoopal church. Since Itev. Mr. Gumpbell and Rev. Mr. Wood have been holding meetings In Brook. ,Thtu far five persons have united with the church as tho rosult of their labors, and it is to bo hoped many more will follow their example, A itingulur accident happened to Mr. Peck’s team Sunday evening. As he was driving to church ono of tha mules stepped into a rut, wedging its foot in so tightly that the frozen ground had to be cut away with an ax before the animal could be extricated. A social scandal is causing much gossip and many wicked thicats. Two youngsters courted a lady, and of course one was unsuccessful in his suit. She could only marry one, and finally made her choice. The discarded lover Is now circulating reports derogatory to her cliHStity; gossips ropeat his stories ; a knock down has already resulted; and, pistols and scattered brains are threatened for future entertainment. I trust a bolter feeling will prevail with the return of more agreeable weather.
