A Man Arrcsted for Marrying Eleven Wives.
A Freeport, (Ill.,) correspondent of the Chicago Journal, states that a man named Travis, alias Ferguson, alias Hoyt, alias Waddam, is now in the Boono County jail, charged with various delinquencies, the principle nf which is polygamy, for which there are at least, ten conn’s against him. Passing himself off as a rich Californian, he tnarrid a young lady in South-western YV”iiconsin, and a second in Jo Davies county, Illinois. In another town in the same county, he won and wooed a widow, bbt was detected'in numerous swindling games, and arrested. Since he his been taken into custody, it has ITeen ascertained that he was formerly an inmate of the Illinois Stats Prison, where he had been confined for larceny, and that including those above mentioned, he iias within the lost few month* married and then robbed of their money and jewels, no less than eleven credulous young ladies and foolish widows.
