Indignation Meeting at Mich. City.
[From the Lafayette Daily Courier.
The friends of Col. May, at Michigan City, held a meeting last Saturday evening, to express their indignation on account, of the shabby treatment received by that gentleman at the hands of the Democratic State Convention. The gallant serviceu of the Col. in many a hard fought political campaign. were properly ventilated in a moving preamble, after which the following resolutions were adopted: Resolved, That Col. May, considering his averdupois, did not have proper weight in the Convention. Resolved, That Cyrus L. Dunham, is outgeneraling Col. May as delegate to Charleston, and afterward adding injury to insult by kicking him in a public place, (on the abdomen,) whicli he has since been compelled to carry in a sling, deserves to be classed as a disorganizer, and for the future must be considered outside the pale of a healthy organization. Resolved , That the devotion of Col. May to the Little Giant, in opposition to the “world, the flesh, and the devil,” merits our hearty commendation, anil the imputation of any hankering after the flesh pots-of Egypt in this connection, is a Black Republican lie. Reso'ved, That Col. May can whip Dunham in a fair fight, and that to strike or kick below the belt, is not in accordance with the rules of the prize ring. Resolved, That, we unanimously take a drink. The Coin ention immedialeiy adjourned with three cheers for Col. May.
