Terrible Domestic Tragody.

There was much excitement at Paris, 111., on the 16th inst., on account of the announcement that the wife of Samuel Joy, » citizen of the place, in attempting- to shoot her husband, had kiiled her own child, a bright little boy, ten years of age. The parents had quarreled, and the wife, to defend herself from an assault of her husband, seized a double barreled shot gun to defend herself. She raised the gun to fire on her husbnnd, but he, seeing her movement, dodged from the range; anj the eotire contents were lodged in tie right eye of the Sh» then attempted to fire the other barrel, but luckily it snapped. Joy then snatched tha gun from her hands, and commenced atonca to take revenge by striking her over the head.; The light being dim in the room, both parties were vet unawere that their child lay a lifeless victim of their unsubdued passions. Mrs. Joy is now in custody, *nd will ba triad at an early day.
