PUBLIC DEBATE.
At the debate last Wednesday evening, between the Calliopeans and « Erudites, the first named Society gained the victory. Messrs. J. D. Hopkins, John Thompson, Sr., and Judge Crane being the Judges. The third public debate will take place on next Wednesday night, when the following question will be debated: “Resolved, That the use of intoxicating liquors, in the United States, is, and has been, productive of more evil than Slavery therein.” Aff.
