The Chicago Tribune report? tiie fallowing sketch of the coo! conduct of a young scamp named Washburne, sentenced to the Penitentiary, in that city, for four years, for larceny: Recorder—“ Seems to me, young man, I have seen you before!” Prisoner—“ Des-say, your honor. I have met you l think.” Rec.— -Sent you once before this to Alton. didn't 11 ■’ Pris.—“ Seems to me. now I recollect,you did.” Rec.—“ And you ran away?” Pris.—“No, I walked away a little piece, 9 and when I got clear I run like blazes.” Rec.—“ That was for two years!"’ Phs. —“Two years, I think, I know I staid ! till my eye teeth were cut.” Rec.—“ Vv il, young man.
