Sharp Practice.
Recently a stranger in Des Moines City, fow.i, had his pocket picked, ( r lost his poekj et-book containing one hundred dollars. He offered fifteen dollars for the recovery of the money. The thief was arrested, and a law- | yvr named Cole employed by the unfortunate gent lonian. ; Cole took possession of the pocket-book ; and money, of which the thief had spent all j but thirty dollars. He gave fifteen dollars to the person who had made the arrest, and kept the rest as fees. The stranger appealed to his lawyer, saying that he was a stranger, entirely out of money, aryl having no m>' its of returning to his home.
