CODE OF ORDINANCES . For the Government of the Town of Rensselaer, Jasper County, Indiana. (CONTINUED.) [No. 11.] SEC. 1. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT and Trustees of the town of Rensselaer, in council assembled;. That from and after the due publication of-this ordinance no person or persons shall be permitted, within the limits of said town, to sell or barter, directly or indirectly, by a less quantity than a quart at a time, nos any person or personjs within said town be permitted to sell, barter, or give away , any intoxicating liquor to be drank or suffered to be drank in his house, outhouse, yard, warden, or the appurtenances thereto belorming, without first procuring from the Clerk of said town a license in the manner hereinafter prescribed. Sec. 2. The words “intoxicating liquors,” as used in this ordinance, shall apply to any spirituous, vinous. cr malt liquor, or to any intoxicating liquor whatever, which is which rnay be used, as a beverage. Sec.* 3. Any white male citizen of said town, desiring to obtain’ license for the sale of intoxicating liI quors. shall first, pay to the treasurer of said town the ! sum of onchuudred (100) dollars, and shall then pre- ! sent such treasurer’s receipt therefor to the Board of I trustees, and the Board, if satisfied that all things ’ touching the same have been properly dupe, shall cause the Clerk to issue to such applicant a license to retail intoxicating liquor in said town for one year, Sec.4. Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall forfeit and pay for the use of the corporation aforesaid the sum of One Hundred dollars to be collected as the law directs.
