BE IT OR DA IN ED BY TH E PRESIDENT O and Trustees of the town of Rensselaer, in coun- I cil assembled: That ho show, musical exhibition, i wax figures, or other exhibitions of any kind whatever, for gain, except scientific lectures, shll be permitted in the town of Rensselaer, without the person or persons exhibiting, showing, or offering so to do, ! shall, before such exhibition, and before taking any steps toward the same, pay over to the treasurer of said town the sum of three (3) dollars, and shall present the Treasurer’s receipt of the same to the Clerk of said town. who shal I then issue a license therefor; and the fee of tlie Clerk for issuing said license, as aforesaid, shall be fifty (50) cents, to be paid by the person or persons taking out said license; and any person or persons failing to comply with the provisions of this ordinance, or any part thereof, shall, upon conviction thereof, forfeit and pay, fur the use of the . corporation of said town, the sum of not less than five (5.) nor more than ten (10) dollars, to be collected as the law directs.
