Jasper County Agricultural Society.

As' the time for the anual election of officer.' for county agricultural societies, for the ensuing year, is near at hand, and the old society of this county is disbanded or has ceased to exist, it is highly important that some move be made to organize a new society, on such principals as more fully to curry out and encourage tlie object of improvement oi agricultural and mechanical persuits in this county. To do this, I propose that a meeting of the citizens lie called to consult over the matter, at which time a proposition or plan, will be presented, which, if adopted, will secure an organization which will sustain itself pecuniarly, and, at the sometime, carry out the object intended by societies of this kind, and infuse new confidence and zeal into those interested. , The plan will be to form a joint stock company, on such a plan as to be a good investment to those taking stock, and at the same time carry out the encouragement of-agricultural and mechanical persuits in all its branches, and be under the laws of the State Board also. It has been tried in many instances in this and other States, and has, in every instance, more than filled the expectations of its supporters.
