Ed. Gazette: —I see in the last week’s Expositor a long labored article from Jacob Markle relative to myself, in which that man shows a strong inclination to elevate himself into notoriety liy a newspaper controversy with me. I cannot descend to a newspaper controversy with a man who is cheating justice every day he is out ot the penitentiary. I will simply put in a negative to the impertinent questions asked me in his lvino communication, and defy his proof,and refer him for lurther answer to the law on the 89th page of the Acts of 1855, and to iny notice df him and hisslaflders in your paper

of the 27th ult.
