Shooting at Lake Village.

About two weeks ago two men Lee and King by name, living in the vicinity of Lake Village, got into a dispute over the ownership of a hog, the trouble culminating in a fight, followed later on by a lawsuit, in which both the defendant and plaintiff attempted to establish the fact that the other fellow was a man to be feared and shunned. Monday night as King was passing Lee’s house he met the latter, and their trouble of two week’s previous broke out afresh and finally wound up by King whipping out a revolver and planting a bullet in Lee’s side. Lee fell to the ground and called to his son to bring the gun. The boy promptly obeyed, but instead of handing the gun to his father, raised it to his shoulder and plunked a load of shot into King’s head, causing that gentleman to topple over and lay upon the sward as one dead. Both men were badly wounded, but when last heard from they were doing quite well and no doubt both will recover. Marshal Flowers went out Wedi nesday and brought Lee into town, where he was placed under a M,OOO bond for his eppearance at the preliminary hearing which is set for Monday next. —Morocco Courier.
