Blackford.

Tod much rain. We had a wind storm which damaged fruit trees. A good many trees were blown down. Lester Schriner is working for Max Burlege on the Pullin’s farm. Edward Jenkins and George Masters have recently purchased new buggies. Several young people from Blackford and vicinity attended the Sunday school picnic at Fair Oaks last Sunday. Mrs. Cynthia German who died near Rensselaer last Friday was interred in Smith cemetery in this township Saturday. She was a former resident of this township. George Ott has purchased a new carriage. The hay crop is doing well since the rain. Heretofore it has been too dry for a heavy growth of grass. Jesse Jenkins and family are visiting relatives and friends in Fair Oaks.
