There is a rumor afloat to the effect that the contractor’s bond in the DeMotte and Otis gravel road in Keener township has disappeared. An examination of the original papers fail to disclose any trace of the bond, and as the bond has never been made a matter of record it would be well for the tax-payers of Keener township to keep a close watch on the matter. With no bond from the contractor no one will be responsible to the tax-payer for any crooked work that may be done.
