When the Judge was Young.

Ollttd Tribune. Judge S. P. Thompson was 60 years old last Saturday and a select party of his friends gathered at his home in Rensselaer to give h6nor to the occasion. The Jasper county bar went to the house in a body to oongratulate him. Time has dealt frostily but kindly with .the judge. How distinctly do we remember a score of years ago or ||gre when he came “courtin’ ” one In Oxford’s fairest daughters. His regular vfants to the school were always welcome; his presence would soften the harsh rules of discipline and the afternoons would be' an oasis to the hearts of the boys.
