Senator Morrill of Vermont celebrated his 88th birthday anniversary in Washington a few days ago. Hugh Fraser, charged with murder, was acquitted at Bessemer, Ala. Fraser was with Thomas Collins when J. L. Howell was shot in the Bessemer prison in December last.
