M.r. Imndy was a Ooti-Tv:itivo Ibpublican. Iii- son-in-law, Mr. niamberlln, was the representative Irom Henry county in tbc Slate Legislature. Mr. Ihmdy catuo out ngain-t biui when he? wa a candidate for rcnomination. We C4in :.ot.K.vo the exact vot of Henry county for these two nu n, but our recollection is that Chamberlain rercivetl IV'CO, and Jtundy, Ro. Y, of cotirM'.are willing to bo corrocU'i! if not right. Mr. r.untlyhiratnedisiistcd with his party, und went oir with the Johnson mm to the riiiludtdphia f Convention. He united then with tho rebels of tho .South and tho Copperheads of the North and formed a party; hut for tho purpose of tfcttin Republican votes, he is talking like all deserters of party -that ho is Mill a Kepnblicau. Mr. Ilundy accepted a nomination by a Copperhead caucus at Indiauapolis from t'.iis district. Wo can not .peak fr other counties of the district, but we make tho assertion that there was no one from this iiumty in that caucus that over belonged to tho Republican party. Thoso present from thi county, as wo understand, wen Miles Hunt, John Clapp, (iid. Shaw, Hon. Shaw, Joseph Ivlger, and probably sonn others. Mr. Ilundy was not a Major in thc army nt nil; ho was simply a payln.vtor at Indianapolis, with tho pay of a Major. Jf ho ever .-aw a rebel it was after ho was raptured and brought to Indianapolis. He had a good time while the soldier was subject to hardships disease and death. Ho has made a pile of money, which has enabled him to make his wife wealthy. Wo do not know where ho got tho. money, but be has made enough money to do without otliee for a while. It is true, Mr. Handy has a right to bo a candidate for Congress, but ho has no right to get votes by fraud in deceiving tho people as to what party he belongs to, and who pat him on tho track. II; dare not deny, under oath, tha. tho Democratput him on tho track. We Iure him to do it. A 11 ALLY. The Democrats are to have a grand rally onTnext Saturday. Mr. Ilundy, their candidate for Congress, Is to U lu re to address them. The Democratic Central Committee have sent out large püatcrt to that i-UH-t. Mr. Ilundy is called an independent candidate in order to catch Uepubliean votes; but notwithstanding he is the Democratic Copperhead candidate for Congress, for t-ycry one of thut class will vote f-r him bcCMUoc he has lowered Idsi stundard .f Cnioni-m sufficiently to tiititle him U their confidence.
