DcerfieM is seven miles North of Winchester, and has a good steam louring mill, one dry gools store, one grocery, one woolen factory, cabinet, black-mith, wagon, and harness shops. The draft occupies tho attention of the larger portion of our people, and serves as a good topic for gov,ip. Cintc a number of our neighbors have gone on visits to their relatives across the lakes, and some others are keeping one eye open in that direction, if the draft takes place. There is considerable ciJbrt being made to clear this towiuhip, but 1 think it somewhat doubtful if it will be done; unite a number of persons will not give anything.
