Browne and ourself stepped on board the Mail train on Saturday evening last, and under charge of the gentlemanly Conductor, Mr. Skilks, soon found ourselves safely landed at tho Davis House. Muncie is always a fast place, but on Satuidav evening it was overflowing with live Iloosiers, all rejoicing over the nomination of Lincoln k Hamlin. At night the city was illuminated with bonfire, the cannon was booming and the bells were ringing. David Nation, Ksq. mounted a temporary stand Kast of the CourtHouse and proposed nine cheers for "Honest AHE LINCOLN." That done, T. M. Urowne, Ksq. was loudly called for and was welcomed with three rousing cheers. His speech was hort, but a happy effort. The Muncie Ilrass Band discoursed fine music for the occasion. At 10 o'clock a thousand or more of the people repaired to the Depot to receive their delejrutu from Chicago; Hon. Walteu March. At lO.SO the Night Express rolled in and Mi:. Makcii was greeted with tremendous applause, mnio, firing of cannon and ringing of bells.
