Dikd. On the 13th inst., at his residence in Plymouth, Ind., Maj. John M. Moore, aged 28 years. Major Moore's death was occasioned by wounds received and disease contracted during his service in thcaimy. He was born May 13,1840; came to this place in le late company formed in this place, and; afterwards served in the 10th Indiana regiment. .oon cftcr this, he was commissioned by Gov. Ho was in thc battles of Mill Springs, seige ofCorinth, and baitla of Perryville. lie was married about ayear and a hal f ago. Major Moore was a young man of unusual promise, and had won a high place in the esteem of all who knew hiia. Just entering life, by thcn'ysteiious dispensation of Providence he is taken to the great unknown. He leaves many sorrowing hearts, and his death will be long and sincerely mourned by our whole community. His bfreaved family have in an unusual degree the sympathy ot all. j The funeral takes place to-day, under thc auspices of the Ma;onic fraternity. It is said by some that A. Ilawley, Esq., is selling bis stock of Boots and Shoes ag cheap as over. Others even insist that he is lower than he used to. We can hardly believe this possible, but we do believe, and know, that he has a large stock of the very best goods, and Bells them as cheap rt3 any man can sell honest goods.
