TiiKitE is a dutiful and loving wife living not a hundred miles from this place, who has lately been visiting her relatives and friends in the West. Returning sooner than she expected, on arriving at her homo in the after part of the night, being anxious to gain admission as soon as possible, she made an alarm which quickly brought her husband to the door, supposing a rebber was trying to gain admission. After the usual "who's there" and "it's me," the door was opened and in stepped the delighted wife, rejoicing that she was once again safe at home. She had notlong been in the house until she noticed that a change had seemed to come over her husband during her absence. All was not right. The mystery must be solved, and that at once. So resolved, she went to the sleeping apartment of her husband in search of some I fair and frail one whom she suspected might j be slumbering there. On entering the bed room, light in hand, her worst fears were fully realized. There la covered from head to foot, what appeared to be the object of her suspicion. Taking hold of the bed clothing she gave a strong pull, determined to meet face to face the one who had dared to disturb the peace and quiet of her home. The husband after viewing the situation as calmlv as he could under the circumstances dctermined that as woist must come to worst, it should be known at once. Stepping to the bed he said "Susan? you mightas well get up, we arc caught, and it's no use trying to get out of it ! " As the clot lies were removed the astonishment of the wife can easily be imagined w hen she beheld the familiar face of me of her most respected cousins of the male persuasion. Although she is not addicted to the ue of profane language, the husband says she made a remark similar to that made by mother Eve when rebuked for her short -coining by her obedient husband in the rardenof Eden-'1 J dont carcA-dunl The democracy of Kosciusko county cvlebrated "the recent victories by a public meeting at Warsaw on Saturday last. The Bourbon Brass Band were present and took part in the proceedings. They express themselves highly plcnscd with the attention shown them w hile there. The Sunday School convention which was in session here last week, passed off very I leasautly, and it is hoped, profitably to the Sunday School interests of this locality. Tiik other evening the democracy of this place got up an impromptu celebration of the rest It of the late elections. The. band played the music, Messrs. Jo. Davis and S. Beals made the speeches, and a very enthusiastic time was the result. Last Thursday evening as the Express train going West was leaving this station Gideon l'lotner drove his team on the trick at one of the street crossings, and before he could get oil" the train had struck his wagon making a complete wreck of it, and throwing him a considerable distance. The injuries he reccivedarc not considered serious, but are sufficient to remind him of an exceedingly narrow etcapc with his life. The horses were thrown to thegrouud but are uninjured. i fijal iUcrti.$nttcnt$. STATE OF INDIANA MARSHALL COUNTY.S In Circuit Court, February Term, 1663. Edmund Spencer ) vs . Dirorce.
