The bridge across Yello v River, on Michigan street, is in a miserable condition. It is a great wonder that some person has not been killed before tl us m driving Over the concern after night. Whose business it is to build a bridge for the accommodation of the public across the river on one of our principal thoroughfares, makes no difference, to us or anybody else. The bridge there has been unsafe for 3"ears; and if allowed to go unrepaired for a few days longer, the county will have more to p;iy for the breaking of some man's ncek there, than a new structure would cost. The matter should not be permitted to go unnoticed by our citizens any longer.

In the circuit court, at its recer.t session, the following, among other cases, were disposed of: Daniel Lontr, charged with perjury, was trit'd and nctiihted. D.Bowker, confined in jail since May last on a charge of grand larceny was tried and acejuittcd. Albert E. Vantine, charged with stealing pocke t-booh containing money, ami a passenger ticket, was tried and convicted. Sentence three months in county jail. John Smith, true name unknown, tried for larceny, convicted. Sentenced to county jail for ten days. Simeon Ilumhaugh and Hums for stealing goods from Decker's store, found guilty and given ten days in the count- jail. Several oilier cases were continued for trial at next term. Dri:cs laky. Last Sunday niirht, or rather early on Monday morning, some light-fingei-cd chap, with steady step, entered the dwelling cf Thomas Houghton, on Walnut street, and lelieved his- pantaloon's pocket of $ "C in moiiev. The thief made an entrance through the buttery wind ow, passed to the kitchen, and through the sitting room into the bed room where Mr. II. and his wife were sleeping. The pantaloons containing the money was hanging on the foot-board of the bed, and it was a very easy matter to get hold of then without entering very far into the bedroom. The next morning Mr. II. found his pantaloons lying back of the house in the lot, minus the money and a pair of suspend ers. The same ni-ht the house of A. K. Dr';g;s was entered in like manner, and his pocket-booh, containing $2 in money, and his watch taken from his room.
