New Substance for Soliiig Shoos. The Shoe and Leather Reporter thus notice3 a new material for soling shoe?, which fcerns to bo tho climax of improvement in this department. It sccina to be a substance of which India rubber is the basis, but it is heavier, and has a solMity almost of irou, yet a P.cxibility and chs ticitj which render it a most perfect sub stance for the purpose for which it ii specially offered. It ia not at all of the Tulcanized rubber character, though it appears at a glance to be like that material. As an article for soles it will undoubtedly out wear four pair of tho best English leather. This substance is not to take the place of the ordinary sole, but is to bo applied by a peculiar cement to the boot or shoe, to which it appears to adhere perfectly. It is then pared on the edge, and the work is over. Jlceta arc pat on in tho same way The inventor says a pair cf soles, worn daily, will last one year. It is patented and will soon bo introduced. It has one rare and valuable desideratum. Any one possessing any ordinary shoe knife, a sandstone to sharpen it, a bos of the camcut, and a few pounds of this sub stance, can set up a shoe shop; and the regular shoo trado can make it a most profitable branch cf industry. Austrian Fcrlln- Toward Prussia.
From tlie Vienna Xcw Freie Presse. This Famo Prussia, the satellite of Russia during the Eastern war ; which during the war in Italy exchanged fisticuffs with the enemies of Austria this legitimate Prussia, which takes it crown from God's altar with a view of subjugating Gcrmaay and transforming Austria into a secondary Selavo-Magyar State makes a league with Italy which would lay German territory and German honor at the mercy of the foreigner This same Prussia prccnta herself before tho Federal Diet, and expresses astonishment that Austria and Saxony should think themselves menmced by her policy. Does this Prussia, which haa twice declared that she would overrun Saxony with her troop.?, expect to bo believed when, heaping lie upon lie, she affirms before Germany and Europe that tho security of Berlin is compromised by the policy and military preparations of Ilcrr Van Bucst ? Nay, more ; Herr Von Bismark. whose intri gues have entangled King William ia aL allianco with Victor Emanuel tlii3 avoved promoter of a traN toroua and felonious policy toward Germany, who has made rapine, pillago and rioleace his programme, has the audacity, in the face of the Federal Diet, to identify his policy with the rights of the German nation, and to accuse the other Governments of Germany with refusing to pay due consideration to the most modest demands of the same Germany.
