THE DEMOCRAT
Local and Miscellaneous. (There will be a Democratic meeting at Corbin's IIr.ll Saturday evening September 24th, for the purpose of organizing a democratic Clül, for the campaign. 'Thd pen is said to he mightier tan the sword." Clearly demonstrated when the pen is in Voornees' hands and the swordio Carrington's. Work has been commenced on the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, and it is expected that the road will be in running order by Fiiday. There is no military news of importance. A Richmond paper states that Sherman had declared his intention, after having rested his army at Atlanta, to move upon Andersonville, where over 30,000 federal prisoners are confined. The Democracy of KosciUska County will hold a mas? Meeting at Warsaw on Saturday, Sept. 24th, lSGl,at which time the citirens of Marshall County arc invited to be prer-ent and join in the rally for McClellan, Pendleton and Peace. Prominent speakers will be present and a grand time is anticipated. Urowx's Bronchial Tkociies Clear and give strength to the voice of Sinoers, and arc indispensable to Public Speakers. 'I have never changed my mind respecting them fron the first excepting to thick yet better tf that which I began thinking well of." Rev. Henrv Ward Neeciier. Our neighbor of ll:e Republican is anxious to know the price of whisky. Not being interested, wc are unable to inform him further than to refer him to the daily reports of the market. By the way, neighbor, if rumor be correct you once was in a position to know the price of colored wool; can you inform your readers how it rates now ? Many of them, doubtleas, would be obliged to you for tho information. Judpc Turpic In tlit County At each of Judge Turpic's appointments in this county, his speeches were well attended and enthusiastically anplauded. The people arc niovinir, and many changes from Lincolnism to deniocraev arc constantly occurring. This cheering to us as it is disheartening to our opponents. Roll on the ball; let the truth be presented to the people, and we will succeed iu ousting the Utile Grrrty and filling his place with a sterling patriot and truo man. Again we fay, roll on the ball.
