A Battle Change o? Base A Flank Movement the Hesult. For some time past there lias been symptoms of hostile feeling existing between a couple of our republican neighbor.-; one of whom is not particularly noted fur his courage any more than for his morality. A few days ago one of them took a couple of young ladies out to ride with him, and after their return the other took ocfasiorT to spCak to them in very coarse and disparaging terms of their escort, which, coming to his ears, he determined to resent. One day last week the opportunity wished for presented itself, and the battle commenced evidently

to the disadvantage of the party availed, whereupon by a masterly piece of strategy, he immediately changed his base from the side-walk to the insidö of a furniture store. This was done on the double quick, but did not avail him any thing, as the attacking party, by a splendid Hank movement, cut him off from his anticipated cxI it through tbo back door. After a series of maneuvers, more energetic than arec-1 able, the ouds were decidedly in favor of the assailant, when some outside parties interfered and put a stop to hostilities. It' is said by those who witnessed the battle that the party attacked, although much the larger cne cf the two, manifested throughout a degree of cowardice possessed but by comparatively few men.
