GREAT REDUCTION IN THE PRICES OF SING-BR & OO.'s Standard Machines ! Well known be the best for Manufacturing purposes: No. 1, Shuttle Machine, formerly solo at $30. Reduced to $70. No.2,Shcttle Machine, formerly sold at $10U, ! Reduced to $Ü0. Singer's Letter A ITS a c Iii 11 c, Is the best in the World fur Family Sewing and Light .Manufacturing Purposes. Price, with Hemmer, and beautifully ornamented, !-0. We would ask for our Letter A Machines, the special attention of Vest Makers and Dress Makers, and all those who want .Machines for Tight manu- j factnring purposes. They embody the principles of the Manufacturins Machines, making, like : them, the interlocked stiti h, and arc destined to be as celebrated for Family Sewing and light manufacturing purposes as our Manutacturin-g Machines are for inaiiufacturiii pin poses in general. Family Sewing Machines are valuable in pro portion to the number of things they can do well, ifee what ours can do before making a purchase. Tncre is no doubt as to the value of nur Machires for m nufactmin purposes, but it is only of late that rhe public began to learn that the essential elements of a machine best adapted to the heaviest work, would also be the elements to be embodied in a Family Machine. It is now well understood that our Letter A Machine is the only Family Machine yet offered to the public which lias s'unplicitv, rapidity, durability, arvd ce.t.iinty of correct action. While as a general thing, the sewing machine people are candid enongh to acknowledge that our machines are unetuaTcd for manufacturing purposes, they are almost sure to assert, in the same breath, that Singer' Letter A, or Family Machines, arc not as good as theirst This is a mere trick of the trade, and w-confidently invite those interested in the subject to examine for themselves, and see what our Letter A Family Machines, with all the recent improvements, arc capable of doing. While they will sew the most delicate material to perfection, as already stated, they are also adapted to light manufacturing purposes, and this, be it remembered, can not be said of any of the other Family Machine? yet offered to the public. The Not. I and 2 .Machines fire of great capacity and applieation for manufacturing purposes. Our No. Machines are especially adapted to all kinds of li-lit and heavy leather work, in Carriage Trimming, Boot anl Shoe making, Harness making, &c. Sic. They are of extra size, with an . arm long enough to take under it and stitch the J largest sized dashes. There is scarcely any part of a Trimmers stitching that cannot be better done with them than by hand; so, too, the saving of time and labor is very great. The table ol these machines is 24 inches long, and the shuttle will hold six times as much thread as the shuttle nf those used for tailoring purposes. The Urse machines work as fast as small ones. We have always on hand, Hemming Gauges, Silk Twist. Linen and Cotton Thread on Spools, Rest Machine oil in bottles-, At. Wc manufacture our own Needles, and would warn all persons usir.g our machines not to buy any others. We know that there are needles sold of "the mo3t inferior quality, at higher prices than w charge for the best. The needles sold by us arc manufactured especial y for our machines A bad nedle in render the working of the best machine almost usoles. Our customers may rest assured that nil our Branch offices are furnuLed with the genuine arti cle. In case of small purchr.se, the money maybe sent in postage stamp, or bank notes. Correspondc rts will pfease write their names distinctly. It is all important that we should, in each case, know the Post Ollice, 0mfy, arxl State. All persons requiring information abotitSewing Machines, their aiz, prices, working rapacities, and the best methods of purchasing, can obtain it by sending to us, or any of our Hranch Offices for a copy of "J. M. Singer A Co's. Ga'.ette,' which is a beautiful Pictorial paper entirely devoted to the subject. It will be sent gratis. Wc have made the above reduction in prica with the two (old view of benefiting the public and ourselves. The pub ic have been swindled by spurious machines made in imitation of ours. The metal in them, from the iron casting to t'uc small est piece, is of poor quality. Their makers have not the means to do their work well. I hey are hid away in secret places, where it would be impossible to have at their command the proper mechanical appliances. It is only by doing a gieatbu-incss, and hiving extensive manufacturing establishments, that g od machines c. n be ma eat moderate prices. The best designed machines, badly mado, are always liable to get out of order, and are sure to cost considerable trouble and money to keep them in repair. The qualities to be looked for in a Machine, are: certainty of correct action at nil rates of speed, simplicity of construction, great durability, and rapidity of operation, with the least lalmr. Machines to combine these essential qualities, must be made of ti:e best nytal and finished to perfection. We have the waya and means, on a . I ...In r tin thin. Irnii'i si.aii.i" The purchasers of Machines, w hose daily bread it may concern, will find that those having the above qualities nt only work well at rapid as ell as slow rates of speed, but last long in the fine! possible working order. O r machines, as made by us, will earn HKre money with less labor than any others, whether ii. tmit ition of ours or not. In f ict, they are cheaper tl en any other Machines if gift.
