Thev cmlKxlr the principle of the Manufacturing Machines, making, like them, the intorloold stitch, and are destined to be as celebrated for Family Sewing and light manufacturing purposes as our Manufacturing Machines are for m f.,po in prrrl. family Sewing Machines an? valuable in proportion to the number of things they can do well. Sec what ours can do before making a purchase. , . Tnere is no doubt as to the value of our Machines for manufacturing purposes, but it is only of late that fhe public begun to learn that the essential elements of a machine best adapted to the heaviest work, would also be the elements to be embodied in a Family Machine. It is now well understood that our Letter A Machine is the only Family Machine yet offered to the public which has simplicity, rapidity, durability, and certainty of correct action. While as a general thing, the sewing machine people are candid enough to acknowledge that our machines are unetjualed for manufacturing purposes, they are almost sure to assert, in the same breath, that Singer's Letter A, or Family Machines, are not as good as theirs! This is a mere trick of the trade, and wc confidently invite those interested in the subject to ex - amine for themselves, and see what our Letter a Family Machines, with all the recent improvemeuts, are capsiDie 01 uoing. wuuciney win sew the mostdelicate material to perfection, .salready stated, they are also adapted to light manufacturir.z ourp05C9, and this, be it remembered, can not . ti 1 tin i .t . ! be said of any of the other Family .Machines yet j offered to the public. The Nos. 1 and 2 Machines are of great capa city and application tor manufacturing purposes. Our No. J Machines are especially adapted to all kinds of lisht and heavy leather work, in Carriage Trimming, Boot and Shoe iu;iking, Harness making, &c. kc. They are of extra size, with an arm long enough to take under it and stitch the largest sized dashes. There is scarcely any port of a Trimmers' stitching that cannot be better done with them than by hand; so, too, the saving of time and labor is very great. The table ol these machines is 21 inciie long, and the shuttle will hold six times as much thread as the shuttle of those used for tailoring purposes. The large machines work as fast as small ones. We have always on hand, Hemming Gaugos, Silk Twist. Linen and Cotton Thread on Spools, Best Machine oil in bottles. &c. We manufacture our own Needles, and would . . . 1 . . I warn alt persons usu.g our niacnines not to buy ' -.;;v .,l!;trs. We know that there are needles aohl of the moät inferior quality, at higher prices than we charge for the best. The needles sold by u are manufactured especial y for our machines. A bad needle mav render the working of the best machine almost useles. Our customers may rest assured that all our Brauch oßiccsarc furnished with the genuine article. In case of small purchases, the money maybe sent in postage stamps, or bank not. Corresponderts will please write their names distinctly. It is all important that we should, in each case, know the Post OlGcc, County, and State. AH persons requiring informttion aboutSewing Machines, their size, prices, working capacities, and the best methods of purchasing, ran obtain it by sending to us, or any ef our B-ani h Ollices for a copy of MJ. M. Singer & Co's. Ia.ctte," which is a beautiful Pictorial paper entirely devoted to the subject. It will be sent gratis. We have made the above reduction in prices with the two fold view of benefiting the public and ourselves. The pub ic have been swindled by spurious machines made ir. imitation of ours. The metal in them, from the iron casting to the smallest piece, is of poor quality. Their makers have not the means to do their work well. They are hid away in secret places, where it would be impossible to have at their command the proper mechanical appliances. It is only by doing a tncatbiininess, and having extensive manufactur ing establishments, that good machines c- n be mä? e at moderate prices. The best designed ma chines, badly made, are always liable to get out of order, and are sure to cost considerable trouble and money to keep ihem in repair. The qualities to be !'oked for in a Machine, are: certainty of correct action at all rates of speed, simplicity of construction, great durability, and rapidity of operation, with the least lalior. Machines to combine these essential qualities, must be made of tie best metal aud finished to perfection. We have the ways and mcuis, 00 a grand scale, to do this. The purchasers of Machines, whose daily bread it may concern, will find that those having the above qualities not only work well at rapid as ell as slow rates of speed, but last long in the finest possible working order Our machines, as made bvus, will earn more money with less labor than any others, whether in imitation of ours or not. In fat, they are cheaper then any other Machines ae 1 rift. Local Aoiicts Wasted. I. M. 8INOER k Co 458 Broadway, N. York. JTE. f UL Leal Agnt in Prynnntli.

A Democratic Conservative Newspaperin tho City of New York. TUE NEW YORRTvEEKLY ARGUS. To Bestore the Union and Maintain THE CONSTITUTION.
For several years the Democratic and Conserva tive sentiment of the Nation has tire sentiment of the Nation has been keenly 1 ahve to the necessity of being faithfully and ablv represented by a first class Newspaper, puMished ! in the City of New ork, adapted to popular circulation, and wielding a wholesome iufluencc throughout the Union. The great want has been, and is, a paper which shall sustain the same relation to Democratic and Conservative principles as does the New York Tt ibune to Abolitionism and all kinds of Radicalism a paper conducted with talent and prudence, withcoirect appreciation of ttie true principles oi our Government aud fidelity to them ; in all respects a first class uewepupr, and yet afforded at a price bringing it within the reach of the masses of the People throughout the Country. The undersigned, from their connection with the Albany Atlas k Argu3 one of the oldest and best known Democratic papers in the Union have been constantly urged, during the laet three or four years, to respond to this demand, by establishing a first class Weekly Newspaper in "the City of New York, adapted to general circulation. We yield to the wishes of our political friends, and have therefore transferred the publication of tlie Weekli Atlas .v Arus to the City of New York, where it will hereafter he issued under the name of THE NEW YORK WEEKLY ARGUS. It is published ir quarto form, of the ize o' the leading New York Weeklies; and we promise thatiu its News, Editorial, Literarj, Miscellaneous and Agricultural Departmeat, in its Market Reports, and in all oilier respects, it shall be at least equal to any paper published in that citv. hile devoting to it our own editorial services, it has also the benefit of the entire time and constant supervision of Mr. Ei.ow Comstock, for several years one of tho editors of the New York Journal of Commerce, a gentleman td recognized editorial ability and experience.
