Plyraouth, Iudisna, April, "8213tf GREAT REDUCTION IN THE PRICES or SINGER & OO.'s Standard Machines! Well known be the best for Manufacturing purposes: No. 1, Shuttle Maciume, formerly sold it $30, Redi'ceo to $70. No. 2, fMiL'TTLK Machine, formerly sold at $100, K EDITED TO $'J0. iScr' Letter y .llacliinc, Is the hest in the WorM for Family Sewing and Liht Manufjicturiiir PurK.es. Tiice. with Hemmer, and beautifully ornamented, s50. We would !"k for our Letter A Machines, the special attention of Vi .-t Makers and Dres Milkers, and ai! thoe who want Machine for li'ht ni iniilacturinpr purposes. They embody the principles of the Manufacturing Machines, inkin, like them, the interlocked stitch, and are destined to be as celebrated for Family Sewing and light manufacturing purposes as our Manufacturing Machines are for manufacturing r.utrwwe in eneml Family dewing Machines are valuable in prooortion to the number of thing they can do well. Sec what ours can do before making a purchase. Titre is no doubt as to the valua of our Machines for m nufacturin purposes, but it is only of late that he public began to learn that the essential elements of a machine best adapted to the heaviest work, would also be the elements to bo embodied iu a Family Machine. It is now well understood that our Letter A Machine is the only Fa mil v Machine vet offered, to the public which has simplicity, rapid-ty, durability, and ee.tainty of correct action. While as a general thing, the sewing machine peop'c are candid enough toneknowledge that our machines are uncijualed for manufacturing purposes, they are almost sure to assert, in the same breath, that Singer's Letter A, or Family Machines, arc not :i3 good as theirs! This is a mere trick of the trade, und we confidently invite those interested in the subject to examine for themselves, and see what our Letter A Family Machines, with all the recent improvements, are capable of doing. While they will sew the most delicate material to perfection, ss already stated, they arc also adapted to light manufacturing ourposes, and this, be it remembered, can not be f aid of any of the other Family Machines yet olfered to the public. The Nos. 1 and 2 Machines are of great canac ty and application for manufacturing purposes. Our No. 3 Machines are especially adapted to all kinds of li .ht and heavy leather work, in Carriage Trimming, Boot and Shoe making. Harness making, &c. kc. They are of extra size, with an ai m long enough to take under it and stitch the largest sized dashes. There is scarcely any part of a Trimmers stitching that cannot be better done with them than by hand; so, too, the saving of time and labor is very great. The table of thee machines is 21 inches long, and the shuttle will hold six times as much thread as the shuttle of those used for tailoring purpose. Tho large machines work as fa-' as small o.ies. We haw always n. hand. Hemming (Jauges. SilkTwist. Linen and Cotton Thread on Spools, Bet Machine oil in bottles, c. We manufacture our own Needles, and would Wiimall persons using our machines not. to buy r.v others We know tint there are needles sold of the most inferior quality, at higher prices than w chirge for the best. We have m.de the above reduction in prices with the two lold view of benwliting the public and ourf elves. The pub ic have been swindled by spurious machines made ir. imitation of ours. The metal in them, from the iron casting to t:e smallest piece, is of poor quality. Their makers have not the means to do their work well. They are hid away in secret places, where it would lie irn-ixH-ible to have at their command the the proper by doing a manufacturmechanical appliances. It is only g. eat business, and having extensive incr establishment, that jmI machine c n be i.i a- eat moderate rrieca. 1'hcbest designed machines, badly made, are always liable to get out of order, ami are sure to cost considerable trouble and money to keep them in repair. The qualities to be looked for in a Machine, are: certainty of correct action at all rates of speed, aimplitity of construction. great durability, and ripidity of operation, with the least labor. Machines to combine these escnthl ipialiticc, must be made of ti.e best metal and finished to perfection. We have the ways and means, on a grand scale, to do this. The purchasers of Machine, whose daily bread it may concern, will find that those having the above qualities not only work well at rapid a ell a slow rites of Hj eed, but hut long in the finest possible working order. Our machines, as made by us, will earn more money with less labor tlmn any others, whether ii imitation of ours or not In fact, they are cheaper then any other Machines ar xgift. L?al AtcsTs Wanteh. A Democratic Conservative Newspaperin the city cf NewYOik. THE NEW YOURTvEERLY ARGUS.
To Restore the Union and Maintain THE CONSTITUTION. For several years the Democratic and Conservative svhtiment of the Nation has been keenly alive to the necessity of being faithfully and ab'v represented by a first class Newspaper, published in tlie City ol rew ork, adapted to popular circulation, and wielding a wholceine influence throughout the Union. The great Want has been, and is, a paper which sh-rll sustain tlie same rel.i tion to Democratic and Conservative principles a does the New York Tribune to Abolitionism aid all kinds of Radicalism a paper conducted with talent and prudence, with coirect appreciation of the true principles of our Government and fidelity to thera; in all respects a lirst class newspaper, . iid yet afforded at a price bringing it within the reach of the masses of the People throughout the Country. The undersigned, from their connection with the Albany Atlas Ä: Arus one of the ol-lest and best known Democratic papers in the Union have been constantly urged, during the last three or four years, to respond to this demand, by establishing a first class Weekly Newspaperin the City of New York, adapted to general circulation. We yield to the wishes of our political friends, and have therefore transferred the publication of the Weekly Atlas & Amus to the City of New York, where it will hereafter be issued "undr the name of THE NEW YORK WEEKLY ARGUS.
