tub? i:li:ctio:v. The Corporation elaction held i.i this J place hist Monday, resulted in the sue Cess of the entire Democratic ticket by an average maj n ity of about 10. The Anti-Brighta, as the Abolition organ in this place is pleased to call ita partr foh very much discomlltted when their " : defeat was announced, as they had conf idently calculated on victory. Pioeeedings were commenced against a number of! 'persons for alledged illegal voting. Three j of them were fined S5 and costs, each, and one discharged. We believe it is the ini tention of the Democracy to carry the war into Africa, until the Aunty-Brights are ; satisfied. The defeated may as well keep their i temper, aa the Democrats propose to tako ! their full share of the victories hereafter. THAXKK. Hon. S.
