Plymouth, Indiana, April 25, 1SG1 13tf Daily and Weekly IXDIMA STATE SENTINEL. 1861-2. Hero let the press the peop'e's rights maintain, Unawed by influence and unbought by gain." The Dailj and Weekly State Sentinel are the ecognized organs of the Democracy of Indiana. As it has in the past, the Sentinel will continue to advocate those principles and measures which arc best calculated to advance the tf.ppiness, the prosperity and tho freedom of the people from all unjust and unnccessarr restraints. The freedom of apcech and the freedom of tho preis are necessary to preserve and bcme free institutions. When these are struck down, no matter what may be the apology therefor, from that day date the decline of American liberty. In order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare and secure the blessings oi liberty to ourselves and posterity, the Sentinel will fearlessly scrutinize and approve or condemn, as it believes the pub'ic good requires, all measures of the State and National Adm nietrations. It will ever keep in view the distinction between supporting the Government and the venal acts of those who represent the Government. And we appeal for the support of all who desire to maintain it nnre Constitutional Government, and con tinue for ourselves and our posterity the glorious j heritage of free institution.?, won by lite valor ami framed by the wisdom and integrity of tho men who pledged their lires, their fortune and their sacred honors for liberty and independence. rl O T II 12 I K O V 1a E OF THE UNITED STATES!! In the month of December, 1858, the undersigned for the first time offeied for sale to the public Dr. J. Bovee DouV Imperial Wine Bitters and in this short period they have given such universal satisfaction to the many thousands of persons ä ho have tried them that it is now an established article. The amount of bodily and mental misery arising simply from a neglect of small complaints is surprising, and it is therefore of the utmost importance that a strict attention to the least and most trifling bodily ailment should be had ; for diseases of the body must invariably affect the mind. The subscribers now ouly ask a trial of nr. bo vise non$ IMPERIAL WINE BITTERS, from all who have not used thm. We challenge the world to produce their equal . These Hitters for the cure of Weak Stomachs, General Debility, and for Purifying and Enriching the Hlood, are absolutely unsurpassed by any other remedy on earth. To be assured of this, it is only necessary to make the trial. The Wine itself is of a superior quality, being about one-third f trongerthan other wines; warming and invigorating the whole system from the head to the feet. As these Bitters are tonic and alterative in their character, so they strengthen and invigorate the whole system, and give a fine tone and healthy action to all its parts, by equalizing the circulation, removing obstructions, and producing a generi! warmth. They are also excellent fo" Diseases and Weakness peculiar to FEMALES, where a tonic is rcoaired to strengthen and bnvce the system. No I .adv. who is subiect to lassitude and faintness. shoiild be without them, as they are rovivifying in their action. A Democratic Conservative Newspaper in tho City of New Yoik. THE NEW YOKKVVEEKLY ARGUS. To Restore the Union and Maintain THE CONSTITUTION.
For several year the Democratic and Conservative Fentimcut of the Nation 'ias beta keenlyalive to the necessity of being faithfully and ably represented by a first class Newspaper, published in the City of New York, adapted to popular circulation, and wielding a whoIetme influence throughout the Union. The great want has been, and is, a paper which shall sustain the same relation to Democratic and Conservative principles as docs tin New York Tribune to Abolitionism and all kinds of Radicalism a paper conducted with talent and prudence, withcoirect appreciation of the true principles of our Government and fidelity to them ; in all respects a first class newspaper, and yet afforded at a price bringing it within the reach of the masses of the People throughout the Country. The undersigned, from their connection with the Albany Atlas k Argus one of the oldest and best known Democratic papers in the Union have been constantly urged, during the last three or four years, to respond to this demand, by establishing a first class Weekly Newspaper in the City of New York, adapted to general circulation. We yield to the wishes of our political friends, and have therefore transferred the puhlicatioH of the Weckl) Atlas k Argus to the City of New York, where it will hereafter be issued undr the name of THE NEW YORK WEEKEY ARGUS. It is published it quarto form, of the size o the leading New York Weeklies; and we promise that in its News, Editorial, Literary, Mis ellaneÜUä au'l Agricultural Departmeats, in its Market ueports, ana in ail otner respects, it liall be at least equal to any paper published in that city. bile devoting to it our own editorial services, it has also the benefit of the entire time and constant supervision of Mr. Elon Comstock, for several years one of the editors of the New York Journal of Commerce, a gentleman of recognized editorial ability and experience. The editors will therefore be CALVERT COMSTOCK. WILLIAM CaSSIDY, KLON COMSTOCK; with ample additional speciul assistance in the several departments of the paper. Next to a vigorous support of the Federal Government in its present peril the first great duty of every patriotic citizen the leading purpose of the Editors will be to advocate Democratic and Conservative doctrines, and to engraft them upon tke policy and administration of the Governments State and National.
